A Summer Anthem
03:05
|
|||
I walk around deserted streets, the heat kills like gun,
I cannot force myself to run to places I should be.
I see you window-shopping on the south side of the street:
you see me now, you waive your hand and almost start to cross.
Your hair is getting blonder, must be all the sun outside,
your skin reflects a darker light than what I used to see.
Impossible to come across some thoughts of you and me
and winter’s gone, the days are long, we’re strangers in this town.
But when I close my eyes I see you in my dreams,
it’s like a Summer anthem.

Is a Violence
04:18
|
|||
Whisky and blood, the gift of a wound,
and teeth that keep hurting like silly mistakes,
while life all around keeps going like nobody cares.
My bones are a-shaking, the body is a violence
and Texas is hell like hell never been
and cars keep on going like days when there’s nothing to do.
And cold and cold like Santa Claus the pain is kicking in,
I feel it like a pistol I can touch and move around.
And everywhere I look reminds me of some washed up love
and whisky don’t taste bad enough without some blood in it.
I keep my eyes open, I try not to sleep
preventing bad nightmares to color my ways,
while I pour some whisky directly into my mouth.
My tears are a-flowing, my heart is a violence
and Texas is far as far I never been,
while people outside are nothing but nobody cares.
And cold and cold like icicles the night is moving on,
it covers all the pretty souls and all the ugly ones.
If I had one last breath to take I’d rather be this one,
with blood a-floating down my lungs and whisky down my throat.

Sunsets and Sunrises
03:23
|
|||
And shadows are easier than sunsets and sunrises,
quietly showing some lines on the walls,
for shadows are daughters of sunsets and sunrises,
forcing some shape to seem bigger than real.
While all they design is a body that’s near
but a little too far to be touched and loved.
And sunsets are evenings known and inviting,
spreading the perfumes of grass through the air,
for sunsets are mysteries of death and of no one,
preventing the light to define what is there.
While all they allow is a shower of stars
Just a little too far to be touched and loved.
But when the dark is here I cannot feel the fear
that conquers all there is to see.
For sunrises always appear to return
when dark constellations have mellowed your eyes
and sunrises mean that more shadows are possible,
revealing the answers of life and of everyone:
the love of a lifetime in flowers of blood
discovers illusions that you can touch and love.
And when the light is here I do not feel the fear
that forces all there is to see.
And when the day is new I feel I’m close to you
and you’re the one I touch and love.
So shadows are easier than sunsets and sunrises,
simply defining our shape on the wall,
for shadows are made of our bodies together,
declaring our love to be bigger than real.

The Road
04:00
|
|||
You are the ocean I crossed,
our pleasure the waves that carried me.
You are the land I explore,
our bodies like dunes and like prairies.
You color the sky with touches of hope,
our mornings the fruit of our kisses.
You smile like a smile is unique,
our lips on our lips on our love.
You love when time is irrelevant,
our life is outside any clock.
You come to my senses unnoticed,
our senses the love that we share.
You are the road I drive on,
my car is rumbling your name.
